Share By StoryCloud asserts that creative minds should be the masters of their creations. No longer can imaginative works be sucked away into a vortex of business middlemen, only later to be illegally redistributed throughout the world’s networks. Share By increases content control immensely, offering the following “permissions” for uploaded content:

• Reveal content for a duration of time
• Release content in a geographic radius
• Limit number of views
• Require a user to purchase content

Share By also offers an in-depth analytics dashboard, revealing which users viewed what files, how many times, where and for how long. This information should prove invaluable to any serious content creator.

FastCompany wrote about Share By in 2015. Despite an exciting initial launch, Share By was unable to garner enough attention to stand on its own. The service has, unfortunately, been discontinued as of early 2016.
